Memnership Criteria

Membership of the Society:

  1. A person who is capable of entering into a contract as per Indian Contract Act, 1872 may be admitted as a member of the Society according to its rules and regulations, provided he has paid subscription as prescribed in the rules and subscribes to the aims objects of the Society.
  2. The applicant must hold a postgraduate degree (MD, MS, MDS, or M.Sc.) or doctoral degree (PhD) in biomedical sciences, life sciences, medical sciences, or allied fields.
  3. No one can claim admission to a society as a matter of right on payment of prescribed subscription. The discretion of the Executive committee shall be final for grant or refusal of admission to any person to the membership of the Society.
  4. Any person who is interested in becoming a member of the Society shall submit an application in the prescribed form to the secretary of the Society. The said form shall be available with the secretary of the Society or with such office bearer as nominated by him in this regard.
  5. The secretary or his nominee, as the case may be, shall place such forms along with his recommendations if any, before the next due meeting of the Executive committee for final decision for admission to membership of such person.
  6. The Executive committee may, in its discretion, accept or reject any application for membership without assigning any reason.
  7. The maximum number of members shall be unlimited.
  8. Life membership applications shall be invited at the discretion of the President.
  9. Types of membership and subscription:

There will be following types of membership.

  1. Life Membership: A person who will pay Rs. 6,000/- to the society towards membership fee shall be granted life membership of the society subject to other rules for grant of membership.
  2. Annual Membership: A person who will pay Rs. 300/- to the society towards membership fee shall be granted annual membership of the Society subject to the other rules for grant of membership. Similarly, a student who pays Rs.200/- to the Society towards membership fee shall be granted Student Annual Membership of the Society, subject to other rules for grant of membership. Student members shall not have any voting rights.

The membership fee may be revised from time to time by the Executive committee.
All members named in the Memorandum of Association of the Society at the time of its formation shall be called founder members of the Society and shall be life members.
(vii) Cessation of membership:
A person shall cease to be a member of the Society-

  1. On tendering his resignation in writing to the president of the Society.
  2. On his death
  3. On his becoming incapable of entering into a contract with reference to the Indian Contract Act, 1872.
  4. If he absents himself from two consecutive annual general meetings of the Society without obtaining proper leave of absence from the President of the Society; whichever is earliest.
